Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested two suspects in connection with suspected falsification of documents, criminal conspiracy, and breach of official trust.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ikor Oche, said that the acts were contrary to Sections 102, 59, and 63 of the Zamfara State Penal Code.
State Commandant, Sani Mustapha says operatives of the Corps, acting on intelligence report, clamped down on Bashir Bala, male, 30 years old, who had forged a document, bearing the letterhead of Marafan Gobir Hakimi, Sabon Birnin Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The Corps said the suspect did it with the intention to falsely claim about 40 cows from the Zakat and Endowment Board, where the Sub-Committee saddled with the responsibility of returning rustled animals to legitimate owners, keeps the animals suspected to have been rustled.

The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and said that the document was given to him by 33-year-old Usman Mohammed also known as Alhaji Gede.
Alhaji Gede, who is also a member of the sub-committee, also confessed to the crime. He conspired with the said Bashir Bala, to mischievously lay claim to the said number of animals in contravention of Sections 121, 63, and 59 of Law No. 18 of the Zamfara State Penal Code.
Commandant, Sani Mustapha, said that the Corps under his watch is resilient to purge Zamfara State, of all manners of criminalities, and is ready to support the government in the fight against insecurity. He warned all those involved in sharp practices to desist, as the Corps is poised to deal decisively with anyone found culpable, in accordance with the laws of the Federation.
The suspects will be charged in court at the end of the investigations.
