The United States has announced $4.3 million aid to Sudan as election-related assistance as it continues its transition towards democratic rule.
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator, Samantha Power made the announcement in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital.

The funds will support an existing USAID project—Improving Electoral and Political Processes for Change in Sudan ongoing since last year
The project supports Sudan as it works towards increased accountability and improve public confidence and trust in the integrity of its electoral processes.
The funds will also support the transitional government, political parties, civil society, and media to work toward a peaceful, genuine, and credible election process at the end of Sudan’s transition period.
A total of $12 million of USAID funding has been committed to the three-year project.
