The United States says there is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Targets may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organisations.
In a statement by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria, the Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice.

The Embassy advises American citizens in the FCT to avoid all non-essential travel or movement, crowds and to stay alert. They are to also carry proper identification, review their personal security plans and keep cell phones charged in case of emergency.
