Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi wants residents of the state to disregard the sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on May 30 and 31st.
Dave Umahi handed down the directive in a state wide broadcast on Saturday, to mark his sixth year anniversary as Governor.
Anxiety had been brewing in Ebonyi State, southeast Nigeria, following the sit-at-home order by the pro-Biafra group, IPOB, with some residents of the state expressing fear of being attacked if they ignored the order on Sunday and Monday.
But in what appears as a morale boost, Governor Umahi is asking the people to go about their normal businesses, assuring adequate security arrangements to forestall abuse of their right to freedom of movement.

dreams of the founding fathers of the state have been substantially realised.
