The University of Abuja Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of the University, ASUU, has given the federal government a 24- hour ultimatum to rescue the six victims including two professors and a senior lecturer abducted from the University senior staff quarters along Abuja-Lokoja road on Tuesday.
The Union led by Kassim Umar gave the ultimatum at a media briefing in Abuja, he disclosed that the kidnappers have been placing calls to the family members of the victims demanding fifty million Naira for the release of the victims.

The university of abuja lecturers are still in shock over the incident that took place on Tuesday where two of their colleagues and 4 members of their families were abducted by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday.
