The University of Benin has been shut down following the refusal of students to shift grounds on their demands for 24-hour supply of electricity and more.
According to Public Relations Officer of the institution, Benedicta Ehanire, the resolution of the University’s Senate follows consideration of the unrealistic demands of the students and as such the institution has shut down all academic activities indefinitely.
The statement further gave directive for students to vacate the hostels immediately while all relevant units of the University are to take note and comply.
