Gombe State Government has launched a state policy on Food and Nutrition as well as four-year Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan of Action on Food and Nutrition. The target of the two policy interventions are mostly the vulnerable including women, children and internally displaced persons, IDPs.
The plan which is supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund, Unicef would ensure that these individuals in the vulnerable group gain access to nutrition and tackle deficiencies associated with lack of nutrition.
Officials of the State Government and Unicef give more insights into the four-year plan which started in 2023 to 2027 saying it will address the problems associated with lack of nutrition in the state especially the rural areas.
With the launch of the novel nutrition plan, Gombe joins the league of states and the Federal Government in creating a framework for the nutrition of the child, mother, internally displaced persons and people in the state.
