Students are trooping into the University of Calabar to commence academic activities after eight months strike that rendered all the Federal and some state Universities inactive as a result of unfulfilled agreement between the Federal Government and ASUU.
Already, the University Of Calabar (UNICAL) has released its adjusted academic calendar, according to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Florence Obi, both academic and non academic staff of the University have agreed to speed up to bridge the lost period.

Obi called on parents and guardians to release their wards as the University will not wait for any students who fail to meet up with the adjusted Calendar.
Some of the Students who Spoke with our correspondent said even though they are happy, the academic year will be a challenging one due to the expected rush to catch up the lost time by their lecturers.
However, the state owned University of Cross River (UNICROSS) has not fixed a resumption date.
