The Akwa Ibom state government is set to establish a college of science and technology.
Governor Udom Emmanuel who made this known when the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, paid him a visit at Government House Uyo , says the college will serve as an intermediary programme to prepare students in the sciences.

The visitors to Government House Uyo, is a delegation from the University of Lagos, the Alma Mata of Governor Udom Emmanuel,led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe,they are in Uyo, to solicit support for Unilag’s hosting of the Nigerian University Games, NUGA.
The governor solicited for collaboration with the institution in personnel training and manpower development.
The Unilag Vice Chancellor desccribed Governor Emmanuel as a unique leader and assured that the school will collaborate with the state to uplift the standards of education in the state.
Professor Ogundipe was full of praises over the Governor’s achievements, adding that he has made the University proud as its alumnus.
