The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) University of Ilorin Chapter, have jointly suspended their three-week-old strike.
In an exclusive interview with Ait.live at the University of Ilorin, the Union leaders, Suberu Ibrahim and Olumayowa Oyedepo said that the suspension of the strike was necessary to give room for the execution of their demands from the Federal Government which bothers on the workers welfarism.
Both NASU), and SSANU leaders maintained that they resolved to give Government a benefit of doubt to grant all their 8-point agenda demand before 30th of April 2021 else the strike action will resume

On the burglary that took place by unknown persons during the strike, the union leaders advised their members to take stock of their office equipment before resuming fully to avoid issues
They believed that federal government will fulfil its promises to SSANU and NASU to put an end to the incessant strike action in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
