Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole says the institution will not suspend academic activities ahead of the forthcoming general election.
Professor Egbewole made the clarification following calls by different interest groups for the nation’s universities to grant a short break to allow students to vote in the coming elections.
He also disclosed that the university had adopted strategies to bridge the gap occasioned by the last university lecturers’ strike that caused academic disruptions.

The Vice-Chancellor said the university is currently collaborating with the Chinese embassy in the area of transportation, saying the partnership will help address mobility challenges that have dogged the university community.
Professor Egbewole who gave an account of his first one hundred days in office, as UNILORIN Vice Chancellor said his dream is to make the institution a centre of global reference in research and development.
