A lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education at the University of Maiduguri, Dr Kamal Abdulkadir,
has been brutally murdered in his office.
A report by Zagazola Makama, a security analyst in the Lake Chad region said, Abdulkadir was killed on Sunday when his attacker sneaked into his office and confronted him with a knife and hammer.
Zagazola Makama reports that intelligence sources say the victim was later found dead in a pool of his blood, with several injuries inflicted on his body.
The sources said, “His hands were peeled off when he tried to stop the attackers from stabbing him.They also used a hammer to smash his head and his spinal cord, killing him instantly.”

The killers also carted away his vehicle and other valuables.
The police have confirmed the incident.
The police spokesman in Maiduguri, Nahum Daso Kenneth told ait.live on phone that eight suspects are in their custody while further investigation continues.
The police is also asking the people to remain calm and go about their businesses as the authorities are on top of the matter.
