AIT reporter in Kano State, Yasir Adamu, is currently being held at the Mandawari Police Station near the Emir’s palace.
The reporter, who was on official duty, was arrested by the Police for allegedly violating the 7-day Coronavirus lockdown in the state.
Adamu had properly identified himself as a journalist on essential duty.
Journalists are part those exempted from lockdown order imposed by the Federal and State Governments.

He was, however, freed after an order for his immediate release was given by the State Commissioner of Police, Habu Sani.
