The United States on Thursday celebrated nearly two and a half centuries of freedom, the Fourth of July holiday that marks its Declaration of Independence from Britain, war-time adversary in the 1700s, through two world wars in the 20th century and numerous other global conflicts.

Across the different cities, from downtown to the neighborhoods, and throughout the suburbs, people celebrated the Independence Day .

Local festivities in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago featured parades, concerts, and community gatherings, showcasing the diversity and cultural richness of the American tapestry

On this day, Americans come together to honour the bravery and sacrifices of the Founding Fathers, who fought for the principles of liberty, equality, and self-governance. across the country.

Patriotic displays, parades, fireworks, and community gatherings are held to celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom that defines the United States.

The firework shows are just one highlight to the holiday that typically center on family and fun.

The celebrations were not without solemn remembrance, as President Biden honored the sacrifices of frontline workers, military personnel, and essential workers who contributed to the nation’s recovery and resilience in the face of adversity.
