The United States Agency for International Development through Food Basket Foundation International is collaborating with the media in Nigeria to combat voter misinformation and improve voter and civic education as the country counts down to the general election.
The executive director of the foundation, Funmi Akinyele, said the partnership has become necessary to guide the digital space against fake news.
Akinyele said this explains why the group is working with the media and other critical stakeholders including government, telecommunications, civil society, and the general public to minimize threats of fake news in Nigeria.
