Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on the various ethnic groups across the state to uphold socio-cultural values, as tool for promoting peace and unity among the diverse communities of the state.
The governor made the call during the BALA BARAA MA JALAM Annual Cultural Festival in Jalam, Dambam Local Government Area of Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
Bauchi State is identified as one of the states endowed with abundant cultural heritages and other natural resources.
Among them is BALA BARAA MA JALAM, otherwise known as Karai Karai Cultural Festival, mainly of the Karai-Karai race of Jalam in the Dambam Local Government Area of Bauchi State, and some parts of Yobe State.
The annual event witnessed the turnout of a mammoth crowd, mainly of the Karai-Karai stock, from within and outside the state.

Some of the dignitaries said such an event will help in keeping generations to generations with past historical records.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by his deputy, Auwal Jatau, used the occasion to call on ethnic groups to use their cultural heritages to promote peace and unity for sustainable growth and development.
He added that the Bala Mohammed-led administration will continue to carry every ethnic group along, in building the state for the overall benefit of the citizens.
As part of celebrating the 2024 Karai-Karai Cultural Event, some projects were commissioned by Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau, in Dagauda and Dambam Local Government Areas.
