Max Verstappen secured his first Singapore Grand Prix victory with a commanding performance, completing a remarkable week for Red Bull with another major Formula One success.
The Dutchman resisted an early challenge from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc before controlling the race from start to finish.
The victory followed Red Bull’s maiden Grand Prix win of the season in Malaysia last weekend and Verstappen’s success in Saturday’s Singapore sprint race, underlining the team’s renewed competitiveness.
Leclerc finished second, while Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli claimed third place.
Hamilton loses ground after Ferrari strategy gamble.
Lewis Hamilton endured a difficult afternoon, finishing sixth after Ferrari committed to an ambitious strategy that required him to remain on soft tyres for 44 laps.
The seven-time world champion struggled in the closing stages as his tyres lost performance, allowing Antonelli and McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to move ahead.
The result represented a missed opportunity for Hamilton to secure a stronger finish, while Verstappen’s victory further highlighted Red Bull’s improving form.
Antonelli Strengthens Title Challenge
Antonelli’s third-place finish proved particularly significant in the championship battle.
The Italian benefited from team-mate George Russell’s ninth-place finish after the Briton started from 19th on the grid, extending his championship lead to 102 points.
Antonelli could mathematically secure his first Formula One world title at the United States Grand Prix on October 25.
To achieve that, he would need to win the race, with Russell finishing ninth or lower.
With the championship battle approaching a potentially decisive moment, Antonelli’s consistency has placed him in a strong position, while Verstappen’s recent victories suggest Red Bull could remain a major force in the closing stages of the season.
