The Head of the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, National Office, Nigeria, Patrick Areghan, says candidates who were reported to have COVID-19 in Gombe, Kwara, and Bayelsa States had taken tests before the start of the examinations, a week ago.
The WAEC chief, after inspecting some schools in Abuja, denied the leakage of some question papers, while revealing that fraudulent supervisors will soon be named, prosecuted, and shamed.
Areghan was joined by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sunny Echono, on an unscheduled visit to both public and private schools in Abuja for inspection of ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations, WASSCE.
Last week, some media reported that question papers have leaked, but the WAEC denied the allegation with strong warning to would-be perpetrators.
