Former Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has been placed on watch-list of the Nigeria Immigration Service to prevent him from leaving the country.
Immigration authorities have also written to the Department of State Services, DSS, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and other law enforcement agencies in the country to notify them that the 2023 Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC is now on the no-fly list
The letter signed by the Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, D.S Umar, says the former Governor is being prosecuted at the Federal High Court, Abuja for conspiracy, breach of trust and money laundering.
The Nigerian Immigration Service says if former Governor Bello is seen at any entry or exit point in the country he should be arrested and referred to the Director of Investigation.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force, PMF to withdraw all personnel attached to Yahaya Bello who has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a wireless message cited by AIT.live, MOPOL 37 Lokoja is directed to strictly comply with the order.
