The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it is deploying the latest technologies and techniques, towards defeating drug barons and curbing drug abuse in the country.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (Rtd), who disclosed this at the passing-out parade of the 2,500 newly trained Narcotic Agents and their Assistants in Katsina, also warned them to stand firm and resist temptations of drug cartels.

The Graduates are part of the 7,500 personnel to be trained by the present Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brigadier General Buba Marwa, hoping to hit 10,000 in 6 weeks.

Addressing the new officers, Marwa, represented by his Special Adviser, retired Colonel Yakubu Bako, reminded them that they cannot afford to compromise on their work, because their efforts will directly impact the safety and well-being of their families, communities, and the country at large.

He also assured them of further training, especially as the agency is deploying modern technologies and techniques, to outsmart drug barons.

Marwa further warned them to shun corruption and avoid being tempted by the tactics of the drug barons.

Some of the new officers restated their commitments to the fight against drug abuse.

The officers thereafter showcased their skills, including march past, demonstration of basic anti-narcotic operations skills, and presentation of awards to outstanding cadets.
