The suit challenging the reported installation of Prince Tsola Emiko as Olu designate has begun at the Warri High Court in Delta State.

ait.live gathered that the proceedings,  commenced under tight security on Friday with thousands of Itsekiri indigenes in attendance.

Chief Emami had approached the court to challenge his alleged suspension by a section of the Ginuwa I Ruling House as well as the process that led to the selection of Prince Tsola Emiko as the Olu designate.

A writ of summons with suit number W/128/2021 dated July 8, 2021, has Chief Emami as the claimant while Chief Akoma Dudu Dimeyin, the Olori-Ebi of Ginuwas Ruling House, Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh the Olori-Ebi of Ginuwa l Ruling House, and Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe the Iyatsere of Warri, as respondents.

The suspended Ologbotsere is seeking an interlocutory injunction restraining the respondents either by themselves agents, privies, and whomsoever, from crowning any person as the Olu of Warri kingdom pending the hearing and determination of the suit.

He is also seeking the interpretation of the controversial 1979 edict to retain his rightful place in the traditional administration of the kingdom.

The transfer of the case to Asaba the Delta State capital with an appeal for accelerated hearing topped many demands on the first day of the case.

While all preliminary applications were deferred, the case was however adjourned to August 3rd, 2021.
