After three months of mourning according to the Itsekiri tradition and customs, the demise of the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, late Ogiame Ikenwoli Emiko, has finally been announced by the Itsekiri Traditional Council of Chiefs in Delta state.
The announcement was made at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri people in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state by the Iyatsere of Warri, Johnson Amatserurelege.

The Iyatsere was also quick to announce the emergence of the son of the Atuwatse II, the 19th Olu of Warri, Prince Tsola Emiko, as the Omobo, Olu designate but the announcement was dismissed by the Ologbotsere of Warri, Ayiri Emami.
Ait.live gathered that out of the seven kingmakers in the Itsekiri kingdom, only two were present at the pronouncement of Tsola Emiko as the new Olu of Warri designate.
For now, there is division among the Itsekiri Traditional Council of Chiefs over who emerges as the new Olu of Warri.
