The Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu says the House did not at any given time extended an apology to President Muhammadu Buhari on the feud between him and lawmakers over his refusal to honour the invitation no the killing of 43 Borno rice farmers.

In a statement issued to newsmen on Monday, Kalu said the President did not seek any apology from the House or anyone on the contentious summon extended to him by the Green Chamber.

Kalu explained that the House attention was drawn to reports by a section of the media which reported that the House apologized to the Presidency over its resolution which arose from the motion sponsored by members from Borno State, requesting for the invitation of the President to brief the Nation on the state of insecurity in the country, that he President or the Presidency as the case may be, never sought for an apology from the House of Representatives for carrying out her Constitutional responsibility to the Nigerian electorate.

Kalu called on Media professionals to uphold the ethics of the profession as he makes it categorically clear that the House never apologized to anyone for exercising her constitutional mandate.

Kalu added that the 9th National Assembly of the House under the Leadership of the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila would never do anything to desecrate or destroy the critical institution of democracy, which he says is the Legislature, just as he stressed that he strongly believes that President Muhammadu Buhari subscribes to the democratic ethos and ideals as well.
