Abia State government has expressed interest to embrace and key into the Federal Government Medium-Term National Development Plan MTNDP.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu stated this while declaring open the South East Zonal Technical Workshop on Medium Term National Development Plan 2021-2025, holding at the Micheal Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, the Abia State Chief Executive notes that the cardinal policies of MTNDP on Agriculture, Education, Commerce/Industry, Health, Oil and Gas with their institutional and infrastructural enablers are noble initiatives of the Federal Government.
Governor Ikpeazu therefore expressed optimism that the State’s version of Abia Long Term Development Plan will serve as a guide to all participants at the Workshop, and urged them to brace up to the new challenges of economic diversification as they brainstorm with Stakeholders in the implementation process of the laudable National Policy.
The Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Abia State Planning Commission, Nnenna Chikezie explained that the contributions of the workshop participants will accelerate economic and infrastructural development of the South East Zone within the implementation period of the Medium Term Development Plan.
