The World Health Organization, WHO has called on the Federal and State Governments to invest in vaccination of the people in order to avert a third wave of the covid-19 Pandemic in the Country.
Speaking when he met with the Rivers State Governor on Monday, Representative of the WHO in Nigeria Dr. Walter Mulombo says the country is still vulnerable and everything must be done to avert the catastrophe that has been predicted for Nigeria and which it has so far avoided.

With the third wave of the deadly and rampaging COVID-19 Pandemic now looming, Representative of the World Health Organization WHO in Nigeria Walter Mulombo is in Rivers State to stress the importance of a continuous vaccination exercise in the country.

Not mincing words, Dr. Mulombo says Nigeria is still vulnerable and everything must be done to avert a disaster.

And while applauding the efforts of the Rivers State Government, Dr. Mulombo also identifies a number of areas that need to be strengthened including the signing of the Contributory Health Protection Programme Bill to law.
Governor Nyesom Wike says his administration will do everything to ensure that the people are protected from the COVID-19 pandemic and other diseases.
Speaking further, the Governor says he’s happy with the level of COVID-19 testing and vaccination across the State.
The Rivers State Governor also used the opportunity to express appreciation for the support and collaboration the State has enjoyed from the World Health Organization saying that it will go a long way in improving the health sector.
