In her ongoing initiative aimed at empowering women petty traders across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory, the wife of Nigeria’s President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has launched the “Renewed Hope Initiative” project during her visit to Delta State.
The First Lady at the event which took place in Asaba, the Delta State Capital empowered each beneficiary with a grant of N50,000 to support their various economic endeavours, but explained her choice of focusing on rural women whom she said plays important roles in the local and family economies of their environs.
Senator Oluremi who hailed from Delta State used the occasion to reveal more of her identity and gave more insight on the “Renewed Hope Initiative.”
Beyond the Renewed Hope Initiative, the wife of the President informed crowd that there are lots of empowerment programmes of the Federal government, and enjoined women to be part of the ongoing “Every Home Garden Contest.”
Wife of Delta State Governor, Tobore Oborevwori expressed appreciation to the wife of the President for her commitment towards uplifting women especially the rural dwellers.
The Renewed Hope Initiative which was aimed at empowering women inorder to develop the economy at the grassroots levels touched the lives of 1,000 rural women in Delta state.
