Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared a strict ‘no work, no pay’ policy against striking workers in the territory, describing the industrial action declared by the FCT chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress as politically motivated.
Speaking on Friday after a high-level administrative meeting, the Minister insisted that the FCT Administration would not succumb to what he described as political blackmail.
Addressing journalists on the resolutions reached at the meeting, Wike directed the chairmen of the six Area Councils to immediately enforce the ‘no work, no pay’ policy against any teacher or civil servant participating in the strike.
