Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, have met again, alongside their supporters and members of the Wike-led Rainbow Coalition, in a renewed effort to consolidate the reconciliation of their once-divided political family.
The Minister and his delegation arrived the private residence of Governor Fubara in Port Harcourt at about 4:20 pm local time for the closed-door meeting which is the second in two weeks.
This follows earlier engagements involving the Governor, coalition leaders and representatives of the various political interests that became divided during the crisis.
It comes against the backdrop of a protracted political crisis that plunged Rivers State into months of uncertainty, strained political relationships and culminated in a state of emergency in March 2025.
Among those involved in the reconciliation process is a committee led by former senator, Magnus Abe, which has been working to bring the different camps together and develop a framework for their reintegration.
The latest round of discussions is expected to strengthen that process by providing an opportunity for the principal actors and their supporters to engage directly on issues affecting their political relationship.
The meeting ended after about two hours.
And just like the previous engagement, the parties declined to speak to the media and there was no statement or specific details of the discussions and any fresh agreements reached.
