Nigeria’s Super Falcons have defeated Burudi 4-nil at the Women Africa Nations Cup to finish second in Group C with six points.

Uchenna Kanu sealed victory for Nigeria with a brace after Rasheedat Ajibade opened the flood gate of goals in the 25the minute when she converted a penalty.

The Athletico Madrid forward picked herself up after she was hacked down by the goalkeeper to convert from 11 metres for the Super Falcons first goal.

Peace Efih doubled Nigeria’s lead three minutes after Ajibade’s opener while Kanu made it three for the Super Falcons almost immediately as the Coach Randy Waldrum side took a 3-nil advantage at half time.

The other match of Group C ended with a solitary goal as South Africa’s Bayana Bayana defeated Botswana to end their group stage campaign unscathed.

Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the Quarter Final, while South Africa are up against Tunisia.

The other Quarter Final pairings pitt Zambia against Senegal while host Morocco and Botswana trade tackles.

The winners of the Quarter Final matches advance to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia next year.
