As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to mark the 2026 World Breastfeeding Week, Wife of the President Senator Oluremi Tinubu is urging mothers to prioritise exclusive breastfeeding, healthy living and good nutrition for the benefit of their children.
In a message to commemorate this year’s World Breastfeeding Week, observed from August 1 to 7, Tinubu aligned with the global theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”
She described breastfeeding as the foundation for a child’s healthy growth and lifelong development, saying it remains one of the most important investments in the future of families and the nation.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu also encouraged lactating mothers to adopt healthy lifestyles and eat nutritious meals to promote their well-being and support the healthy development of their babies.
She concluded by congratulating mothers on the occasion of the 2026 World Breastfeeding Week and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening breastfeeding practices to give every child a healthier start in life.
