Some Nigerians in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State have tasked the National Broadcasting Commission( NBC) and other regulatory agencies of Government to provide a roadmap that will facilitate improvement of Radio Programmes content in Nigeria and enforce measures that will help to keep to the standards of Modern Radio Broadcasting ethics.
This opinion was shared on Saturday by some Policy analysts and Journalists who enumerated the importance of the 2022
World Radio Day.
Social Platforms across the world are widely accepted as the cheapest and fastest means of information dissemination but Radio still retains its signifance as one of the reliable conventional media institution that provides an opportunity for citizen to be educated, informed and entertained on various topical issues of general Public Importance.
The thirteenth day of February was Proclaimed by United Nations Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 as World Radio day and issues of media content and quest to sustain Standards were discussed.
This year’s World Radio Day is classified into three sub themes and emphasis was placed on Media Practitioners commitment to win the trust of listeners through sustained unbiased reportage and ethics .
The theme for this Year’s World radio Day is “Radio and Trust”.
