Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and Bashir Machina

Winner of the Yobe North Senatorial ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bashir Machina, has declared that he has neither stepped down for the Senate President, Ahmed Lawal, nor withdrawn from the race.

Machina who issued a statement obtained by AIlive on Sunday says, the circulation of a fake withdrawal later, was the job of mischief makers who are hell bent on pushing him out of the contest by whatever means.

Machina stated that the purported letter was forged. He did not at anytime withdraw nor resign from the party.

The discrepancies between the two dates especially between the date of writing the purported letter and the date it was received exposed the authors inadequacies and lack of sufficient administrative knowledge.

Machina says he suspects that the letter may be another fake news and the handiwork of enemies of peace. He insists that the APC National Secretariat must speak up on the issue hence the purported letter is carrying its official stamp.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the general public to ignore the said letter as nothing of such has happened.
