Youth leaders from 18 political parties in Nigeria have called for a review of parties constitutions to include provisions for more young people in politics and governance.
The call was made at the end of the national youth party leaders workshop in Abuja which lasted for nine hours.

The workshop aimed at promoting youth representation in politics and governance, notes the lack of implementation of the ‘ not too young to run’ law as older persons still dominate parties’ candidacy in elections.
The workshop was put together by the International Republican Institute and the national endowment for democracy ahead of the 2023 general elections.
