There has been a flurry of reactions in Enugu after the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was reported to have ordered an end to all forms of sit-at-home action in the South-East region of Nigeria.
The Special Counsel to the IPOB leader, Alloy Ejimakor, told journalists on Friday at a Press Conference that Kanu, who is currently being held at the DSS facility in Abuja, gave him a handwritten letter, instructing a Finland-based pro-Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, to desist from any further imposition of sit-at-home action on the people of the region.
This Saturday, thousands of youths stormed the Enugu capital city, marching in support of the latest order by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, which, according to them, effectively ends sit-at-home actions in Enugu State and the entire Igboland.
The youths who displayed placards with various messages, lamented the grave human and economic losses that the two years of illegal and forced sit-at-home actions have caused Enugu State and her people.
They say every segment and sector of the state wants an end to sitting at home.

The youths are, however, appealing to the Nigerian government to immediately free the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, noting that it is the key to the restoration of peace and security in the troubled southeast region of the country.
The youths who marched from the popular Okpara Square to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in the city centre, are undertaking to carry the message of “no more sit-at-home,” as ordered by the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on June 7, and now by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to all communities and villages across the state.
