The Police Command in Nasarawa State has banned the sale and use of fireworks before, during and after the Yuletide celebration.

This is contained in a statement signed by DSP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.

According to the PPRO, the ban became imperative to avoid unnecessary panic and tension due to the security situation in the country.

He advised those selling the products to stop, warning that anyone apprehended would face the full wrath of the law.

Nansel added that the Commissioner of Police, CP, Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, enjoined all residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure that law and order is observed in the state.
