A week after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA sanctioned Ethiopian airlines, airpeace, aero and two other foreign and local airlines, over violations of its regulations during Yuletide travels, the agency says the erred air operators have unanimously agreed to compensate air passengers and meet up with other demands.

Addressing journalists at the NCAA’s first event in 2025 on safety regulations held in Abuja, The acting Director General, Civil Aviation, Chris Najomo said the authority under his watch will ensure that the demands are implemented.

Najomo assured Air travellers that the Nigerian airspace will be safer in 2025 than 2024 with the enhanced safety surveillance as it’s solely focusing on delivering its core functions to meet its performance targets.

He further noted that the authority will not relent in tackling the issue of flight delays, cancellations and poor communications between air passengers and airlines as well as ensuring the aviation sector keeps working towards achieving the international best practices.
