In Zamfara State, political activities have reached a fever pitch as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal following his recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Stakeholders, led by former Governor and Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, recently met in Talata Mafara to harmonise party structures.

They reassured members that Lawal is a strategic homecoming that will unify the state’s political leadership.

For the APC faithful in Zamfara, it has been a season of strategic consolidation.

From Gusau to Talata Mafara, party leaders have held a series of high-level meetings aimed at ensuring a seamless integration of the Governor and his supporters into the APC fold.

The formal reception, scheduled for Tuesday in Gusau is expected to be a major event presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

State APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, has mobilised ward and local government executives, stressing that the party is now more united than ever to deliver on its mandate.

Governor Lawal cited the lingering internal crisis within the PDP as a primary reason for his exit, stating that aligning with the center is essential for tackling Zamfara’s security challenges.

APC stakeholders believe this alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will accelerate federal interventions and infrastructure development across the state.

With the political landscape in Zamfara shifting to the APC, the ruling party now controls 31 states nationwide
