The Police in Zamfara State say they have neutralized one Terrorist, repelled Terrorists’ attacks and arrested six Suspects at Communities in Gusau and Maru Local Government Areas of the State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Police command Superintendent Mohammed Shehu who paraded the suspects on behalf of the commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf, said the police recovered two Ak47 rifles, two magazines, 104 round of live ammunitions, bunch of charms as well as a sack containing clothes with groundnuts covering live ammunitions.
The Zamfara State Police command Public Relations Officer Superintendent Mohammed while addressing journalists on the successes recorded by the police, explained that on 1st January, 2023 Police tactical operatives received a distress call about plans by Suspected terrorists to attack commuters along Gusau- Magami- Dansadau road and the surrounding villages.
He said the police operatives mobilized to the locations and engaged the Suspected terrorists in gun battle, neutralized one, repelled the attack and forced others to retreat to the forest through their superior firepower with gunshot wounds.

The police spokesperson in Zamfara State Superintendent Mohammed Shehu also disclosed that the Police tactical operatives arrested one of the gang members of a notorious Terrorist’s kingpin Halilu Kachalla named Musbahu Aminu 30 years old who is a native of Maradun Local Government Area of the State, who had confessed to have participated in several kidnppings and catlle rustling where they collected millions of naira from their victims’ relations as ransom.
The police operatives apprehended another Suspected terrorist identified as Abu Umaru 25 years old , of Doka village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria, who also in the course of investigation confessed that the recent kidnapping which they carried out was on 1st January, 2023 where they blocked Gusau- TSafe Highway by Yandoto Community and intercepted two vehicles, kidnapped nine passengers including three women.
