Suspected terrorists have reportedly killed a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, a Policeman, and one civilian at Maru town in Zamfara State.
Eyewitness accounts said the incident happened when suspected terrorists launched an attack on Maru town, the headquarters of the Maru local government area of the state, killing a Divisional Police Officer, one police personnel, and a civilian.
Sources narrated that the terrorists stormed Maru town in large numbers with the motive of abducting the residents of the area when the Divisional Police Officer identified as Kazeem Raheem mobilized his men and vigilantes to fight the terrorists but were shot dead in the course of the crossfire.

The incident which occurred last Saturday night in Maru LGA of Zamfara State, Northwest, Nigeria, resulted in many of the residents running into the bush for safety.
Eyewitnesses said it was Unfortunate that the terrorists killed the DPO, one police sergeant called Rabiu Bagobiri, and a vigilante member identified as Shehu Chaku and abducted some residents of the town during the attack.
Efforts to get the police to confirm the development were unsuccessful as the telephone lines of the police spokesperson, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu was not going through.
