The Zamfara State Government is seeking to open up new opportunities for investment, trade and industrial development as part of efforts to create a more business-friendly environment in the state.
The move was highlighted at a one-day meeting with business stakeholders, where challenges confronting businesses were discussed alongside possible solutions to attract investors and strengthen the private sector.
For business owners and investors in Zamfara, creating the right environment to operate and expand remains critical to the growth of the state’s economy.
It is against this backdrop that the Zamfara State Government brought together members of the business community to identify challenges affecting businesses and explore opportunities for investment and industrial development.
Addressing the stakeholders, the Commissioner for Commerce, Tourism and Industries, Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi, said the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal is committed to supporting businesses and strengthening collaboration with the private sector.
The Commissioner explained that the government recognises the important role of the business community in driving economic growth, creating jobs and improving the livelihoods of residents.
He said the engagement is also designed to give business stakeholders an opportunity to make their submissions and identify priority areas ahead of the forthcoming Zamfara State Business Summit.
For the participants, the meeting provides an opportunity to put forward their concerns, suggest practical solutions and contribute to building a business environment capable of attracting new investments and creating more employment opportunities across Zamfara State.
