The newly appointed Head of Service of Zamfara state, Shehu Baraya, has been sworn in by Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal.
He is assuming office following the retirement of his predecessor Yakubu Haidara from the state civil service.
The ceremony began with the administration of the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the newly appointed Head of Service, Shehu Baraya, by the State Chief Judge, Justice Kalu Aliyu.
Governor Dauda Lawal formally presented the appointment letter to the new Head of Service.
Baraya subsequently joined the State Executive Council meeting as a full member.

After the State Executive Council meeting for the first time, the newly sworn-in Head of Service, speaking with journalists, expressed appreciation to Governor Lawal for the confidence reposed in him and commended the administration’s commitment to improving the standard of the Zamfara State Civil Service.
He also praised the government for providing a conducive working environment and welfare packages for civil servants while pledging to justify the confidence placed in him and deliver on the governor’s mandate.
Shehu Baraya succeeds Yakubu Sani Haidara as the ninth Head of Service since the creation of Zamfara State.
