The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has condemned the action of the police and the Dauda Lawal-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Government, for what it described as, illegal seizure of the party Chairman’s official vehicle with Zamfara plate number GUS 51 AH without warrant.

A statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris said, the incident occurred in Gusau, the State capital when the police who have been secretly trailing the driver descended on the vehicle to take it away.

It claims that the driver raised alarm on the police who were later discovered to be policemen attached to the Government house.

APC also claimed that the police operatives said, they were directed by the State’s Commissioner of Police to recover the vehicle and take it to the Police Command Headquarters in Gusau only for them to divert to the Government house after forcing the driver to change the route.

The statement quoted the APC, as saying, “We at the APC believe that this is another way and threat jointly orchestrated in collaboration by both the police and the State Government against the APC and its members, especially the chairman who may have been the victim of today’s unfortunate act.”

The APC stressed in strong terms that this is completely unacceptable and it deserves an unreserved written apology from both the police and the State Government with the promise never to harass their members again.

It says, With this development the APC wants to inform security agencies that the Zamfara party Chairman’s life is in danger since they are trailing his movements and that of his family, so if anything should happen to him, it is going to hold Zamfara State Government House, the Police and any other person or body that fits into their suspicions responsible.
