Fuel scarcity is biting hard in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, as long queues are seen at some filling stations.A litre of fuel is being sold for 1,000 Naira at some of the filling stations that are dispensing the product.
Some consumers of the Premium Motor Spirit, (PMS), commonly called petrol, told ait.live that they came out early in the morning to get the product, but as at noon, they are still on the queue.
The NNPC Mega Stations did not commence dispensing of fuel, despite the long queues of motorists and commercial motorcycle riders waiting to get the product.
The people are urging the government to fear God and make life easy for the masses.
David Samson, who got fuel at a filling station that has six pumps but dispensing with only one, narrated that he had to plead with his money, before he could buy the product at one thousand Naira per litre.
This is not the best of times for residents in Zamfara State, as the hike in the price of petroleum products has resulted in double increase in transport fares, and thus making movement more difficult.
There are only few vehicles plying the road, with the majority of them at the filling stations struggling to get fuel.
