The Zamfara State government has alleged that online news outfit “Sahara reporter” collected 1000 US dollars to fabricate an unfounded story that the Governor Bello Mohammed had shut down the state owned university for two years, leaving the students stranded.
The State Government it is not the first time the online medium will attempt to dent the integrity, dignity, and hard-earned political reputation of Governor Mohammed and his government.

The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, debunked the online publication.
He said when Governor Bello Mohammed took over power in the State on 29th May 2019, tertiary education in Zamfara State was at its worst state.
The Zamfara State Commissioner for information, Ibrahim Dosara said to improve the standard of education and youth development, Governor Mohammed set up a committee to investigate the entire higher education sector in the state.
He said the findings of the committee, revealed that the State government was owing Crescent University tuition fees of 26 students, N217 million, Al-Hikma University, 25 Students, N28 million, International University of Africa Sudan, 23 students, N70 million, WAEC and NECO about N3 billion.
Ibrahim Dosara said the Bello Mohammed’s administration settled all the debts left behind by the previous administration, to enable the affected students to continue with their education.
The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, said there was practically no university in existence when Governor Bello Mohammed took over; lamenting the absence basic infrastructure in the State.
