Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has restated his commitment to continue carrying out the “Rescue Mission Agenda” of his administration for the people of the state.
The Governor gave the reassurance in Gusau, the state capital while addressing members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over last Thursday’s judgment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal which declared his election inconclusive and ordered a re-run in three Local Government Areas of the State.
Governor Dauda Lawal was in a faraway Abidjan with his colleague governors of the Northwest zone, when the verdict of the appellate court was given.
A re-run election is to hold in the three Local Government Areas of Maradun, Birning Magaji, and Bukkuyum.
The Appeal Court judgment followed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), challenging the outcome of the governorship election in which Governor Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Addressing the mammoth crowd that troop out to welcome him, the Governor appealed to the party men, women, and youth to remain calm and pray for the party, as they are not only ready for the re-run but to win the election.
Governor Lawal highlighted the achievements of his administration in the last four months in office, including the settlement of salary arrears for workers, ensuring a steady water supply, commencing urban renewal projects, and renovating school infrastructure, to enhance the quality of education, among others.
The Deputy Governor, Mallam Mumuni Mani; the PDP Acting Chairman, Moukhtar Lugga, who doubles as the Chief Of Staff; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Yahaya Yari, expressed confidence that Governor Dauda Lawal will spend eight years in office, and urged the opposition APC to stop dreaming of returning to power after it had failed the people of the state.
