The Nigeria elections debate group, NEDG says it has announced that the presidential debate will take place on November 15 2022 for the seventeen political parties candidates in the 2023 elections to participate.
The announcement was made at a media briefing document in abuja for the presidential debate on economic policy by the group in collaboration with the Nigerian economic summit group, broadcasting organizations of Nigeria and civil society groups.
The group said the candidates who will feature in the debates will be selected based on the polls results conducted to allow the general public make input.
The NEDG partners explained that Nigeria has joined the league of advanced democracies in the world where election debates are part of elections process by subjecting candidates to debates and convince the electorates their experience, capacity and competence for the voters to make informed choices in the 2023 general elections.
The Final list with the names of the selected candidates and the methodology for the selection process will be announced on November 8.

The Debate is moving to all the six geopolitical zones for the vice presidential debate to discuss their plans on economic, security, education and foreign affairs policies to inform electorates in making the right choices.
