Governor Bassey Otu has warned against what he describes as “political experiment” in Cross River State, challenging those seeking elective offices in 2027 to present their records of service.
The Governor spoke at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, where supporters and party faithful welcomed him back from a three-week annual vacation.
The arrival of the Governor Airport was met with cheers from supporters and party faithful.
But beyond the reception, the Governor used the occasion to speak about the State’s political direction ahead of the 2027 elections.
Otu says the past three years have been about laying what he describes as a proper foundation for a productive Cross River, pointing to the revival of previously moribund State assets as well as interventions across key sectors.
It is against that backdrop that he urged the electorate in Cross River State to be careful about who takes over its leadership in 2027.

Governor Otu also acknowledged the economic difficulties confronting Nigerians, commending President Bola Tinubu for what he said are efforts to stabilise the economy.
He expressed optimism that the benefits of the ongoing economic reforms would eventually reach the people.
