The security crisis in Imo State, South East Nigeria, took a disturbing dimension on Saturday, when gunmen attacked the country home of the governor, Hope Uzodinma, in Omumma, Oru East Council Area, leaving three persons dead.
Motor vehicles and some buildings were also burnt.

This is coming barely three weeks after the Police Command and the Correctional Centre in Owerri the state capital, were attacked and over a thousand eight hundred inmates freed.
The governor has blamed the recent incident on political enemies.
