Three students of the Umaru Musa Yar’ardua University, UMYU, Katsina, have lost their lives in a fatal road accident.
Two others also sustained injuries in the accident which occurred on Tuesday night.
The institution’s spokesman, Abdulhamid Danjuma, who confirmed the incident in a statement, gave the names of the deceased students as Hamza Lawal, from Mathematics Education Department, Hamza Hamza, and Salisu Garba, both of the Geography Education Department.
According to the statement, the vehicle the students were travelling to their hometown after their examination was involved in the accident along the Katsina-Dutsin-ma Highway.

Danjuma further stated that two other students, Halili Ibrahim and Abdulbasit Aminu, from Physics and Geography Education Departments, sustained injuries and have been receiving medical attention at a private hospital, in Katsina.
