Beneku Community in Ndokwa-East Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria is on the verge of extinction from its source of livelihood following 3 years of continuous oil spillage from the activities of an Indian oil exploration company.
AIT visited the area where the ecological system of the entire community is under threat as a result of total negligence of the crude oil spill and constant gas flaring from the activities of an Indian oil exploration company in the community.

Toxic waste from the oil exploration has not only infiltrated into the community’s source of drinking water, farmlands, and fish ponds; but also poses a great health danger to both children, pregnant and nursing mothers, as well as the aged.
In an attempt to reach the company’s spokesperson to react to the claims by the community, the Chief Security Officer attached to the Flow Station, Colonel Zibiri (Rtd) charged at the AIT crew.
